Harleigh's 1st day of 1st grade

I had to work today so I missed all of the 1st day of school fun. Amy had to get Harleigh ready & off to the bus stop for me. Amy took this pic for me but it turned out a little blurry. Oh well, as long as I got something. Harleigh's bus picks her up at 7:07am now so it makes for some early mornings. That means bedtime is 8 now instead of 8:30 like last year. Harleigh said her 1st day went okay & that she still misses her old class. I think this feeling is normal & that things will soon get better for her! Off to 1st grade

This morning, Mom & I took the kids on a nice long walk to the park while Jarrod & Dad went fishing. Our friend that we came upon on the way....Yikes!

Camping Trip

Jarrod pulled the camper up to Ray Roberts Lake State Park today & had everything set up for the rest of us when we arrived. When we got there we made the beds, played some games, ate dinner and relaxed. It was so nice. Mom & Dad's side

Meet the teacher night

Tonight, Harleigh had meet the teacher night but the only problem was that Harleigh is out of town. She is in San Antonio with Mimi, Papa & cousin Kate. So, I went by myself & took pictures for her so she could see everything before her 1st day. Her teacher this year is Ms. Burkhart & we have been told that we will just love her. It is always nice when good things are said about your child's teacher. I hope Harleigh will enjoy 1st grade just as much as Kindergarten & that she is not too nervous come Monday! Quick trip to Lufkin, TX

This weekend we went to Lufkin to visit my sister & her husband. They bought a new house this spring so we went to finally check it out. It is really nice & makes us want to move out of ours. Ha ha! Friday (the 13th) we left around noon & had many things happen along the way that don't usually happen. Harleigh got stuck in the bathroom at Dairy Queen, we went through the smoke of a newly started grass fire, we were a few seconds away from having a head on collision with a car that had a blow out on the opposite side of the road and then swerved over our side and ended up in the ditch and then we witnessed a wreck in Lufkin. It was crazy! Friday night we just hung out at the house, cooked some dinner & had a few drinks! Saturday the boys went bow fishing while we went out and about. We met up with them later out at Manse & Brooke's deer lease and had a blast. We later then grilled steak and I think we were all in bed by 10:30! Sunday we just ate a late breakfast and hit the road around 11am. It was a great weekend and can't wait to do it again! My happy early birds!

Rhett can now suck on his toes! He seems to have them in his mouth as much as he can. He can actually just sit there and play with his feet now for hours it seems. It keeps him very content which is so nice for us! Rhett & his favorite toy

Precious moment

I thought this was so cute & just had to get a picture. This afternoon we met Sharie & Rylee up at their water park so the girls could see each other and hang out. After swimming for a while they decided to take a break and this is what they did. They had their own little picnic up on the hill. It was priceless!
