Today we went to Deakon's 1st birthday party & Abby had the place set up like a carnival. She is just so creative & the kids had a blast. They had a football toss, beanbag toss, bowling, face painting, a silly cut-out for your face, apple bobbing & more. Great job Abby & hope Deakon had a great 1st birthday!

Relaxing day
This morning Harleigh and I ran some errands & then waited around till daddy got home so we could go swimming. It is just way to hot out to have Rhett out in the afternoon. So when Jarrod got home we picked up Gage & headed over to Ben & Deborah's to go swimming. Raquel & Reagan met up with us soon after and we had a good time!

Rhett's 4th month check-up
Rhett's 4th month check-up was this morning & all went good for the most part. He received the same vaccines that he did at his 2 month which were the DTap, Polio, Hib, Pneumocca & Rotavirus. Harleigh was with me this time so she held on to one of his hands also. He screamed so loud but calmed down after a few minutes. Poor baby, I just hate shots! He weighed 13lbs. 10oz (24%), was 25 1/2 in. (72%) and his head circumference was 41.6cm (32%). Since Rhett only gained 2lbs over the past 2 months instead of 4 (dropping from 50% - 25%) we don't get to start on cereal or baby foods yet. She wants us to wait and start cereal a couple weeks before his next appointment & in the mean time up his calorie intake through the formula. Bummer....Jarrod & I had just gone out and got all the 1st foods because we were so excited to start him on them. Oh well, 2 months will fly by. Another obstacle we ran in to is the shape of Rhett's head. She said it is significantly flat on one side & has referred us to Cranial Technologies, INC in Dallas. We go for a free consultation in about a month & will learn about the DOC Band Treatment (DOC = Dynamic Orthotic Cranioplasty). If you aren't familiar....this treatment is that little helmet that you sometimes see on babies. We will learn more when we go but if he has to get one I think it takes any where from 5-12 weeks to fully correct his skull. Until then, we have to really focus more on tummy time which Rhett absolutely can't stand & we have to prop him up on his side while he sleeps. Other than that, the rest of Rhett looks great!

1st taste of cereal
Tonight we cheated a little and let Rhett have some cereal. We go to his 4 month check up on Tuesday & should get to start on cereal and baby food. So Jarrod & I went out tonight and bought a box of cereal and all the 1st foods. When we got home we just had to try a little. He spit it out at first but after a while he got the hang of things. It was quit hilarious to watch. We can't wait to see all of his silly faces & to see what he will & will not like.

Lufkin Bound for Harleigh
Today I met Brooke in Corsicana to drop off Harleigh. She is going to stay with them thru Tuesday & we will meet up again in Corsicana. Gigi Baggett kept Rhett for me while I made the short trip so I wouldn't have to run into problems with him so that was nice. I am going to miss Harleigh but I know she is in good hands & has a fun time ahead of her.

Rhett Rolled Over
Today, Amy & Harleigh said that Rhett rolled over from his tummy to his back. They also said Trevor did from his back to belly. Way to go boys...you are getting so big so fast!

Heading back to TX
Today we made the dreaded 10 hour drive back to Fort Worth. This time though we had extra baggage as I can proudly say that we are the new owners of my grandparents 1979 Apache Pop-up camper. We are so excited about it & it pulled wonderfully behind the truck. Harleigh did great again but Rhett had enough of his car seat once we entered TX. He just screamed....it was nice to finally get home.

Last day in NE
Today we woke up and took it easy. It has been such a busy weekend that it just felt nice to hang out at grandmas and relax a little. We stayed around here all day, played and then we left around 5:45 to meet at Les & Pegs for a 'Jasa' get together. It was so nice to see everyone & the food was delicious!

4th of July in NE
This morning we went to church in the pouring down rain. Ate lunch, laid around and wondered if we were even going to get to celebrate the 4th. It was a rainy rainy day. We took our chances and went up to the firework stand & bought Harleigh some more things to pop off. It was a muddy mess in that tent. Finally, the rain stopped & the party was still on. We headed over to my aunt & uncles and spent the rest of the evening there. They have a 4th of July party every year so it was so much fun to see everyone.
