1st Day of Kindergarten

Today was an exciting morning for Harleigh and a sad one for mommy. It was Harleigh's first day of Kindergarten. Mom and Amy came over to join in the fun and be my support system! Harleigh was a little nervous and didn't sleep well but she was sure ready to go. It was crazy when we got to the school. There was no where to park and a mad house of people. I was strong though and never even shed a tear. Harleigh lead us straight to her classroom, put her bag up and started on her project. What a big girl! As we left her, it was just hard to imagine her eating lunch in a cafeteria or riding the Sunshine bus home. I just can't believe that she is already in another chapter of her life.

Sister to BEE........

(This is the picture I used to surprise all of our immediate family)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's right! Harleigh is going to be a big sister! I went to the doctor this past Monday and everything looks great so far. Heartbeat was strong and all my tests came out just fine. Our expected due date is April 2, 2010! Please keep us all in your prayers as we begin this great journey once again!
Funny things Harleigh said when she found out:
~Oh my gosh, I can barely breathe
~I hope it isn't as big as Boldin (Sharie's lil' boy) so I can carry it
~Don't you tell my friends mom, I will
~This is the most exciting thing ever (about tricking my mom)
~Will it be at my next birthday party?
Emergency Alert System
Funny story ~ This morning I woke Harleigh up around 5:30 and sat her on her bed while I started to look for her something to wear. She was still half asleep. All of the sudden the emergency alert system went off on the t.v. It was just a test but very very loud. Something Harleigh has never heard before. She jumped off her bed, took off down the hall, stopped at the front door and then raced across the living room and stopped at the back door. As soon as she got to the back door she turned around and looked at me with fear all over her face. She had tears in her eyes and was shaking and then asked....."is there a fire?" Ahhhhhhh!! Poor baby...she has fire drills at school every month and thought this was the real thing! I felt so sad for her and just held her for awhile to try to calm her down. After all of it was over, we talked about it and I told her I was very proud of her getting to a door as fast as she could. Only next time, maybe she could grab and drag her mom along also. Ha ha! We ended up laughing about it later!
